Can’t believe it’s been more than 3 months since I posted! It’s also hard to believe that it’s already December – where did the time go? Unfortunately this past week, I caught a nasty bug and lost my voice for almost a week now. Honey lemon and cough syrup have basically been my diet for the past few days, and I can’t wait till I get better so I can finally eat some sweets and salty food. All the chocolate Christmas commercials aren’t really helping either. On the bright side, resting at home gave me this opportunity to share some wedding photos with you all! There’s a few that I’d like to share, but for today, I want to share Mark and Stephanie’s wedding since I have their engagement shoot on the blog as well – it only make sense to finish telling the story : ) Since I had such a great time with them during their engagement shoot, I was very much looking forward towards this day. It was a beautiful sunny day in Azusa, and Lindley Scott House was such a fun place to shoot. From the vintage indoor backdrop to the gorgeous greenery around the house, I was constantly inspired with different concepts that I wanted to do. Thank you again Stephanie and Mark for choosing me to photograph this special day and for being such a fun couple. Best wishes to you!

M + C [engagement + wedding]//July 26, 2016

What a busy summer it’s been! This year has been interesting because I’ve finally gotten the chance to attend weddings as a guest rather than a photographer, which definitely took some getting used to. I wanted to make sure somebody was keeping an eye on the time, scouting good first look locations, and, most importantly, creating gorgeous images! But I also enjoyed being a guest who can leisurely sip on a cocktail or two, and have some time to chat and catch up with friends : ) One of the weddings I attended this year was Chris and Michelle’s wedding that recently took place at The Vintage Rose in Fullerton. Their story started way back in 1999, when they were fourth graders who had a crush on one another. Though they parted ways during middle school due to relocation, little did they know that they’d cross paths again almost ten years later in California. And of course, this time they kept in touch and the rest was history! I had the honor to capture their engagement photos and, casually, some moments on the wedding day with my little Canon M3. Without further ado, I’d love to introduce you all to my dear friends, the lovely Mr. and Mrs. Paek.

S + M [engagement]//June 9, 2016

I am so excited to finally share this set with you all! To be completely honest, as beautiful and fun the beach is, I was never a big fan of going there because there’s always traffic along the way. After experiencing long drives, expensive parking, and sunburns on several occasions, I told myself it’s just not worth it anymore. To my surprise, this shoot has completely changed my negative perspectives toward the beach, and reminded me just how stunning and refreshing it is to be able to work with simply colors and light in nature! As the sun was going down that day, blue, pink, purple, orange, and yellow all came together to paint the most romantic backdrop one could ever dream of. To make it even better, Stephanie wore a flowy, elegant white dress that served as a fitting complement to the vibrant sky in an effortless manner. Everything was absolutely p.e.r.f.e.ct! We shared so many laughs during this engagement session, and I cannot possibly wait till I photograph them again for their wedding in July. I hope these photos will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside like they did to mine! Also, if you are interested in doing something like this with your significant other, I am currently doing a giveaway for couples that will end tomorrow (6/10/16) at 6pm! If you’re interested, please make sure to click here for a chance to win a free photoshoot. Enjoy!

SENIORPORTRAIT_CSULB16//May 25, 2016

Congratulations to all the seniors out there – You did it : )!!! It was also my own master’s commencement this past weekend, but I decided not to walk because it was costly and my undergrad’s commencement ceremony was enough for me and my family. I did attend our department’s grad reception though, and it was really great to see all of my classmates again. With both teaching and photography on my plate, I realized I devote most of my time to work, and forget to celebrate my own accomplishments! Hopefully I can learn to relax a bit this summer, and sip on a mimosa or two when the weekend comes around. But enough about me, today’s spotlight is on Priscilla, the lovely senior who won the free giveaway I had in April. Photographing Priscilla was super easy! She was comfortable in front of the camera, laughed a lot, and has the most amazing tattoos on her arm/back. It felt like time was running out because there were so many great details to capture. I’m really happy with the way the photos turned out, and the beautiful blue backdrop just made it even better. Thank you again Priscilla for entering the giveaway on my Instagram. I’m planning my next giveaway session soon, so please stay tuned for a chance to win a free shoot : )

Okinawa pt. 2 [January 2016]//April 1, 2016

Happy Friday everyone! On the second day of my Okinawa trip, we decided to take a tour that was conducted in Japanese. It was quite last minute so we didn’t have the opportunity to look around and see if there were others conducted in English or Mandarin. Even though I couldn’t understand what the tour guide was saying the entire time, I enjoyed being in this role because the teacher part of me wanted to experience how it’s like to be a language learner again! With language as a barrier, there are still many ways we can comprehend information. I was glad that I got the opportunity to explore those ways on my own and, hopefully, to utilize those techniques for my English learners when I’m back in the classroom.  On this day, the bus took us to Shurijo Castle ->The Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters ->Himeyuri Monument ->Peace Memorial Park -> Okinawa World (Gyokusendo Cave). I hope you enjoy my journey : )
